Creating and maintaining good, healthy habitats which are beneficial to all wildlife is at the heart of a gamekeeper’s job. Gamekeeping has changed significantly over the years and while you will still be responsible for the husbandry of both reared and wild game for shooting, your time will also be spent helping to shape the countryside and protecting its species.
If you are interested in an apprenticeship, you will need an employer in place first, please speak to our apprenticeship recruitment team on live chat who can talk to you about where to look for employer vacancies and how to apply.

“Duchy College is an excellent place to learn about gamekeeping. The course has plenty of practical sessions alongside the theory you need to know. The staff have been amazing, they give 100% and go above and beyond what is expected. I have always wanted to be a gamekeeper and now have realised that dream and am working as Gamekeeper at Clovelly Shoot.”
